It was approximately a month later where it all began. Despite the minor victory the Republic had achieved against the ruthless Sith Lords, Darth Revan and his apprentice Darth Malak. The death of Darth Revan was a small price to pay but was the actual person of Revan really dead? With the narrow escape from Darth Revan’s flagship, a female Jedi Knight named Bastila Shan was on her way back to the Jedi Academy along with the injured body of Revan to the Jedi Council. For the first time in history, the respected Jedi Council had lied the news of Darth Revan death to keep the Sith well occupied with the loss of their beloved leader. The news had spread all over across the galaxy, Darth Malak had claimed the mantle and title of Dark Lord of the Sith. His ruthlessness had gone on a rampage against the Republic forces and slaughtered many other Republic worlds in his wrath. Meanwhile high above the Republic homeworld of Coruscant, home of the Jedi Order. There, a group of Jedi Council member’s under the leadership of Master Vandar had been expecting the young courageous Bastila Shan to arrive with the unconscious war hero Revan. Bastila’s snub fighter craft roared through the planet’s atmosphere approaching the Jedi Temple where shed landed inside the Jedi Academy hangar bay. Bastila was greeted with Jedi Master’s Vandar and Vrook, Bastila made her formal report as shed watched the wounded former Dark Lord had been taken away to the Jedi Council throne room and experienced a bond vision of him about to fight her and then saw Malak’s ship had opened fired. The brash Jedi war hero explained when she had healed Revan to keep him alive that she had experience a bond connection with her. Master Vandar sensed Bastila’s sudden premonition and had instructed her to take some rest and carry on doing other duties while the Jedi Council monitored Revan's own medical treatments and his redemption. After eleven months of study, it was a year had passed after Malak had rose to power. Bastila returned from the her secretive training where she had finally become a Jedi Knight, after having a year's worth of training Bastila was summoned back to the Jedi Council and waited for further instructions as she arrived back in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Bastila received a transmission from Master Vandar giving her the orders to meet in the Jedi Council throne room and wait to be called for, she obeyed her master’s command and headed to her own quarters where she waited patiently to be summoned. Bastila sat there in her room for a long period of time, it was roughly six hours later she was summoned back to the Jedi Council. As she had arrived in the Jedi Council throne room, Master Vandar was there waiting anxiously for her and congratulated his promising Jedi Student. “Bastila,” Vandar said promptly. “We appreciate your efforts in saving Revan.” Bastila sighed as shed remembered he brief encounter with the Dark Lord, facing a corrupted hero who’d had become an ancient of evil then the sudden unexpected betrayal of his apprentice Darth Malak had turned against him and tried to kill both her and Revan together. The awkward Padawan suddenly felt her feelings for Revan was embedded deep inside her, not romantic feelings but the feeling of compassion and sympathy for the poor hero, while another part of her admired Revan for his headstrong and pride for what he did to save the Republic. Although some would say that it was foolish decision of him to do it without the guidance or influence from the Jedi Council, the Padawan then sighed admitting that it was hard for her to fight against a headstrong and proud Jedi Knight. “Did Revan recover fine?” Bastila asked curiously. The wise Jedi Master looked at his Padawan’s face as he’d felt his students emotions for Revan were sympathetic for his pride that clouded his judgement. Vandar looked away from his student and frowned, knowing that the identity of Revan was too risky to have his memory brought back, he had no choice but to tell Bastila the truth. “His mind was quite erratic as we tried to save him,” Vandar admitted. Bastila frowned, knowing that shed sensed something else happened inside the Jedi conference room. “What will be done with him then?” Bastila sighed neglectably. “Revan has been ‘altered’,” Vandar replied firmly. “Altered?” Bastila said confusingly. “You mean you have reprogrammed him?” “Yes Bastila because of his mind state was quite frail at the time we tried to heal him,” Vandar told her. “So Revan has a new identity,” Bastila interjected. “Why?” “The Jedi Council had thought this through together Bastila. It was decided should if Revan had been redeemed as he was, the risk of that is too high and it’s possible that he will turn back to the dark side,” Vandar replied. “That’s ridiculous,” Bastila remarked while folding her arms. “I don’t believe Revan would have done such a thing unless the Jedi Council can show him forgiveness for what he had done and make him understand his prophecy as the prodigal knight.” “That was my initial thought as well,” Vandar admitted. “Not everyone on the Jedi Council agreed as we do Bastila, as you rightly said so that Jedi should be forgiven for their mistakes of following the dark side.” “Well Darth Malak is still on the rampage,” Bastila sighed. “It will be only a matter of time that Malak and his Sith kilt would destroy the Republic.” Master Vandar shrugged his shoulders knowing that the truth of Malak’s ongoing rampage would end up crushing the Republic and any resistance around him. The thought of the Sith would thrive all over across the galaxy would cause nothing more than ‘chaos and destruction’. The wise Jedi Master had already deliberated his idea with the Jedi Council and the outcome was acceptable. The decision from the Jedi Council was that Bastila was to guide the new version of Revan and help him remember how Revan and Malak did find the Star Forge. Suddenly Master Vandar recalled an interesting discovery. During the redeeming process of Revan, they had found out afterwards that Revan’s memory was beginning to heal itself momentarily but at a rather slow pace. Revan’s light side thoughts were emerging at every hour and had replaced any reprogrammed characteristic inside him, the Jedi Council deliberated on this issue and had drawn themselves to one conclusion, it was a matter of time that the redeemed new Revan would find out his past eventually and that would cause a slight problem without the Jedi Councils guidance. “Malak will have to deal with the new Revan,” Vandar remarked. “However one day the new Revan will find out his true past, he will have to choose his destiny and I hope his chooses the right path.” “The Jedi do not believe in executing their own prisoners, regardless for what their crimes,” Bastila said compellingly. “ Revan is the key to finding the answers we seek about his own downfall. Especially for what the Jedi Council has assigned for the both of you,” Vandar grinned. “I get it now, Revan is our greater weapon than to turn an enemy to join our cause,” Bastila smiled slightly. Bastila glanced at her master for a moment where shed felt that it was wrong to use such a human being with the exceptional skills and treat the newly redeemed Revan like a pawn used to find the evidence and lure the enemy to him as bait. She saw the new Revan expendable, a thought had come across her mind where shed had suggested that they should be separated but the Jedi Council had already made their decision. “The Jedi Council is asking you to keep an eye on Revan momentarily as you two have shared an experience through the bond you have told us earlier,” Vander said promptly. “Master Vandar, I only experienced that ‘bond’ when I was healing Revan,” Bastila argued. “Why do I have to observe him?” “Rule number one Bastila,” Vandar sighed heavily. “Do not patronise the Jedi Council’s will and why we have chosen you, simply because you were the one who saved him in the first place.” “Sorry Master, I did not want to over step my place with the Jedi Council,” Bastila said apologetically. “Bastila,” Vandar sighed. “It’s alright. We have promoted you to the rank of Jedi Knight and a member of the Jedi Council, which you have earned it quite well I might add. Also your rare Force ability that you used in the battle had helped you to confronting Revan.” Bastila looked at the kind Jedi Master as shed thought to herself that the Jedi Council don’t usually welcome various Jedi Knights and promote them where they will become a council member. Then shed frowned as her Jedi instincts had drawn back to one conclusion, her mastering the rare Force ability of Battle Meditation but the generosity from the Jedi Council was tempting and she was so proud of herself for that and chose to accept. “You are referring to my Battle Meditation?” Bastila smiled. “Your feedback on the situation was plausible and yet I would not have managed to get that close to seeing Revan again. Also I’d appreciate the warm promotion as well and I know for a fact that I have earned it well, my place is with the Jedi Council.” “Your skill and determination has made us all proud young Bastila,” Vandar nodded. “As your place in the Jedi Council that is another matter however, the time for celebrations is not yet until we have dealt with Darth Malak and find this Star Forge.” “How should we proceed Master?” Bastila asked. “You and Revan, are to be reassigned onto a Republic cruiser called the Endar Spire. I believe you know who commands the ship?” Vandar smiled. “Yes, my friend Carth Onasi,” Bastila nodded. “Well Revan’s new name will be known as Krurin Masaror,” Vandar said comfortably. “In time we hope that Revan will make the right decision after he discovers his own true identity.” “I hope you are right Master Vandar but you said Revan’s mind is healing itself,” Bastila replied curiously. “Are you saying that he would recall the events of his past while we look for Darth Malak?” “Revan’s mind is slowly healing itself, somehow we believe the Force is helping him regain his own self again. The risk we took in saving Revan and finding out what led to his downfall could either answer the Republic survival or destruction, ” Vandar said calmly. “Would I experience Revan’s visions Master?” Bastila urged. “We don’t know unless you will mention and be cautious of them, such visions could either answer a few clues that could help save Revan from leaving the Jedi Order again,” Vandar warned the young brash Bastila while glaring at her. “The Jedi Council believes that the redemption of Revan would be the only fighting chance we have in this war. However it may be possible the ‘bond’ you two shared more likely will still be there, probably only temporally because of the linkage that you did to heal Revan.” “I’m inclined to agree there Master,” Bastila nodded. “So you were saying about Revan’s new identity?” Master Vandar smiled slightly as he started walking down the corridor towards the quadrangle with a large tree continued to bloom in the distance while Bastila walked with the short Jedi Master as they continued the conversation. “The Jedi Council thought it would be good to give Revan an undercover name as Krurin Masaror. He will be known as a well trained, skilled and high ranking Republic. I thoroughly recommend that you allow him to be brought along with your journey. You will need to closely monitor him, don’t stalk him, just observe and report back if you have noticed anything odd. Find the Star Forge and stop Malak is your primary objective.” “Sound’s a lot to take in but I can handle it,” Bastila replied honestly. “There is a lot at stake Bastila, the Republic is counting on you,” Vandar remarked. “Farewell then Master,” Bastila nodded. “Then may the Force be with you,” Vandar comforted her. Suddenly Bastila's communicator had gone berserk for a minute, the young Jedi Knight glanced at it noticing an encrypted message that mentioned his arrival would be pretty soon. Bastila smiled slightly as she made her final preparations to meet Carth onboard his command ship the Endar Spire, the Jedi Council on Coruscant were about to release the redeemed Revan back on duty. It was a intensely moment where each Jedi Council member had some reservations about what they have done to the poor hero, but all of them remained adamant the newly characteristic they have reprogrammed together would help them all find the answer how Revan and Malak felled to the dark side. One of the Jedi Masters, Master Vrook was observing the new redeemed Jedi as they’d physically and mentally trained him. Testing his mind to see whether or not their plan had worked as expected. During the expectations, the redeemed Revan, now known as Krurin Masaror, his mind began to slowly repair itself over a short period of time. Master Vrook reported his findings to Master Vandar where the two Jedi Masters had discussed continuously over their plans. While Master Vandar remained confident that Krurin Masaror would be able to recall the thoughts of Revan from his shattered mind, the stubborn Master Vrook remained unconvinced that this plan would work and was pretty well overconfident that Krurin Masaror would recall all of Revan’s dark thoughts were it would corrupt him back on the dark path. “Your name is Krurin Masaror,” Master Vrook informed Krurin. Krurin looked the procrastinated Jedi Knight and gave the Jedi Master a smile on his face. “I’m Krurin Masaror,” Krurin responded. “Do you remember your duties?” Master Vrook asked. “I’m a Republic soldier assigned under Bastila Shan’s command on the Endar Spire,” Krurin replied confidently. “Interesting,” Master Vrook muttered. Master Vrook turned around and looked at Master Vandar where he gave him a slight nod acknowledging that Krurin was ready to perform his duties as expected. Master Vandar smiled as he walked up in front of Krurin and looked at him sharply. The proud Jedi Master had used the Force to scan over Krurin’s emotions and thoughts as he performed his examination. “Do you know this place Krurin?” Vandar asked. “This is the Jedi Academy on Dantooine Master Jedi,” Krurin replied. “Very good,” Vandar smiled. “Do you remember Darth Revan?” Krurin felt awkward for a moment as he was very reluctant to respond the Jedi Master’s question. His emotions had turned quite cold and his thoughts were erratic as Vandar carried out his scan on him. “He was a hero to the Republic but died far as I know, Master Jedi,” Krurin answered promptly. “A profound answer but a good response,” Vandar nodded. “When am I to be required on duty Master Jedi?” Krurin asked. “Very soon Krurin, patience,” Vandar encouraged him. “Bastila is in the middle of discussing with Carth at the moment for your recruitment.” “Should I wait here then?” Krurin asked. “I don’t see any objections until you would be called upon,” Vrook interrupted. “You have passed the examination Krurin, you are free to look around the academy,” Vandar said promptly. “Should you have further questions, ask us at the Jedi Council throne room.” “Thank you Master Jedi,” Krurin smiled. “Please call me Master Vandar, Master Jedi is informal,” Vandar suggested. “I respect your request Master Vandar,” Krurin replied promptly.
