Despite Bastila’s evil look on the arrogant Mandalorian, shed watched him walked away in the distance and noticed Krurin was so disappointed in her. Bastila then felt awkward as the spirit of Revan reflected upon her attitude and judgement as the new Canderous walked outside Javyar’s cantina with Krurin and Bastila closely followed him. After an hour of walking, Canderous had taken Krurin and Bastila through the other side of the Upper City of Taris into a huge compound, with a large oval shaped building, Davik’s Estate. “There you have it Krurin,” Canderous said promptly. “Davik’s Estate, the crime lord as Taris call him who collaborates with the Exchange.” Krurin glanced back at Bastila where he noticed she looked at him and raised her left eyebrow. Krurin gave a cheeky smile on his face and watched Canderous entered inside Davik’s estate. Canderous looked behind him and saw Krurin looked a little curious about the place and frowned at him. Suddenly the doors had closed behind them and there in front of him was Davik Kang, along with his trusty sidekick bounty hunter Calo Nord. Bastila felt the presence of the dark side loomed over the two corruptive individuals and mentioned none of it to Krurin or Canderous as she was reluctant to trust anybody at the time. Canderous walked over to Davik a little closer where he’d introduced the newly recruited member to Davik’s bounty hunters. Canderous talked with his boss for an hour where he mentioned how impressed he was with Krurin on what he did and persuaded his boss with a recommendation. “Canderous tells me you did a great job at the swoop race and also not to mention how you handled the situation with Brejik,” Davik said firmly. “Brejik had it coming,” Krurin said coldly. “It’s not like you Canderous to take partners, you’re getting soft,” Calo taunted. “Watch your tongue Calo,” Canderous grunted. “You may be the newest kath hound in the pack but you ain’t top dog yet!” “Enough!” Davik intervened. “I don’t want my two best top men going at each other throats right now. It’s not good for business.” Davik then shifted his eyes firmly on the new partner of Canderous. He liked his companion’s appearance and was most intrigued with his abilities that he did so far. The crime lord then had a thought across his mind and decided to provide the new recruit with a tour of his estate. “About Brejik, it was an important lesson to be learnt no doubt,” Davik stated. “With my business however I’ve seen enough people suffered for not understanding it.” “Interesting,” Krurin whispered. “With the recommendation of Canderous and a thorough background check, I see no problem with you working with me and the Exchange,” Davik said firmly. “Your offer intrigues me Davik,” Krurin admitted. “Come, I’ll give you the grand tour,” Davik said firmly. Bastila and Canderous stayed behind with Davik’s wretched henchman Calo as Davik showed Krurin around his estate. Krurin was most fascinated by the artwork and architecture of the huge rich estate. Davik then stood in front of a door where it led to the hangar bay, the door opened and there she was, the Ebon Hawk, Davik’s flagship. Krurin was speechless as he saw the Ebon Hawk, it was a big transport shaped like an eagle with the bridge or cockpit as its head and the body either side shaped like its wings. Davik had a big grin on his face as he looked at the Ebon Hawk proudly as he’d spoke to Krurin about his pride and joy. “Ah there she is, the Ebon Hawk,” Davik grinned. “The fastest ship in the Outer Rim, the shields are completely impregnable. Nobody can get past them without the codes to try and steal my ship. Unfortunately, the Sith fleet blockade has grounded my prideful vessel. I’m working of course on obtaining those Sith launch codes so I may come and go as I please however, progress for it has been disappointing at the moment but anyway...” Davik then walked out the hangar as Krurin followed him down the long corridor. Krurin looked at Davik for a moment, knowing that he had exactly what he wanted, the launch codes but there was a lot at stake, to get Bastila back to the Jedi Council was priority one. He held his mouth shut all the way. A few minutes later, Calo, Canderous and Bastila had emerged from the corridor where they’d followed Davik and Krurin to the accommodation area. Davik then showed Krurin into one of the accommodation rooms and spoke with him directly. He’d informed the newly recruit that he was welcomed to stay for the night for a couple of days and also warned him not to decline the offer when the time comes. Davik and Calo had left Krurin, Bastila and the treacherous Canderous behind inside where they waited for the right opportunity to strike. Canderous walked up behind Krurin and interrupted his conversation with Bastila. Krurin looked at him and nodded that it was time to make it happened. “I don’t see any point of sticking around,” Canderous snarled. “We should get moving.” “Tell me what you know of Taris,” Krurin said firmly. “Yeah I know about Taris,” Canderous grunted. “I wasted two years in this rat-hole working for Davik. I suppose the accurate way to describe this place would be ‘cesspool’ or ‘dump’. You got the rich people at the top and the poor people being crushed underneath, and people like me trying to make a living doing the crushing. It’s not exactly you would call it spiritually fulfilling work, but its gets the bills paid. And on Taris, money can make a long way for your future.” “You obviously hated Taris,” Krurin nodded. “More than anybody else I see.” “It’s not perfect but it’s a basic fox-hole make a certain living around her,” Canderous replied harshly. “Is there anything else you want to ask?” “No, that would be all,” Krurin insisted. “You’re choice, if you want something done right I’m the answer for your problems,” Canderous replied firmly. Krurin ran out of the door towards his left down the corridor where he found himself into a slave’s quarters. Canderous and Bastila soon stumbled inside and saw Krurin looked a bit curious about the joint. There were three Twi’leks in the quarters, two females one green, the other orange and a male green Twi’lek all looked at Krurin and his companions. “Would you like a relaxing massage master?” asked the orange Twi’lek. “Heh, heh, now this is my kind of place,” Canderous chuckled. “Yeah I would love one,” Krurin cheekily grinned. “As you wish master, you’ll find this very relaxing,” encouraged the orange Twi’lek. Krurin laid flat faced on the bed as Bastila stood there and watched the orange Twi’lek massaged him. Canderous laid himself on the other bed and allowed the green Twi’lek to massage him. The male Twi’lek walked towards Bastila and the stubborn, prideful Jedi lifted her left hand and pointed directly at the male Twi’lek, then she said in a deep cold tone voice that said ‘No’ firmly. After the massage was complete, Krurin stood up and never felt so relaxed and eased up away from the stress of finding Bastila. He looked at Bastila and noticed she was quite annoyed with his childish humour. He chucked an innocent guilty look on his face and shook his head merely at Bastila, disappointed that she didn’t join in the fun. “How typically male,” Bastila snorted. “Is it possible for you to keep in mind that we have more pressing business to attend to?” “Give me a break,” Krurin frowned. “Relax, I have everything under control.” Bastila rolled her eyes grumbling to herself while Krurin chuckled softly for a moment at her. He slowly glanced back at the Twi'lek ahead of him where she said “I trust you were satisfied with my services master?” asked the orange Twi’lek. “It was most enjoyable,” Krurin praised her. “I found it invigorating.” “Why thank you master,” said the orange Twi’lek. “Do you require any information?” “Depending what sort you have,” Krurin said curiously. “Well recently one of our best customers of Davik, his pilot has been sent to the brig for whatever reason,” said the orange Twi’lek. “Interesting,” Canderous muttered. “Sounded like Davik wanted that pilot dead for what I know.” “We can speculate as much as we wanted to,” Bastila contradicted. “Maybe we should seek this individual and rescue him?” “Tell us more,” Krurin replied firmly. “No I can’t I’m not allowed,” said the orange Twi’lek franticly. “I’ll tell Davik I was very pleased with your outstanding services,” Krurin said persuasively. “Praised from our guests are a valuable commodity, and Davik rewards us slaves who perform their duties well,” smiled the orange Twi’lek. “I’ll tell you what I know.” “Go on,” Krurin nodded. “Davik probably has that pilot of his locked up in a torture chamber, though us slaves aren’t let outside much I can’t guarantee that he will still be there,” said the orange Twi’lek. “I’m sure it will be guarded so be careful. Please don’t mention anything to Davik.” “Your secret is safe with me,” Krurin told her. “Now we should go at once.” A few minutes later, Canderous took the lead and led Bastila and Krurin to the torturing chamber. Corridor by corridor they’d went and fought every bodyguard throughout the estate until the finally reached the brig and found the pilot held captive inside a force shield, physically and mentally tortured. Two metallic robots hovered in the air and fired their blasters at the determined heroes. Krurin and Canderous dodged them as Bastila deflected every laser bolt that came towards her and lashed out her attack towards the bots and attacked them. Krurin then pulled out his blaster rifle and turned on his rapid fire function and fired furiously at the second metallic robot, then a few blaster shots afterwards the bots blowed up in their faces. Krurin quickly rushed inside where he saw the control panel and deactivated the force shield. The frantic pilot looked at Krurin so relieved and thanked him for his efforts, the pilot then provided information that he was the Ebon Hawk pilot and also supplied Krurin the codes to the Ebon Hawk. “We got what we came for,” Canderous reminded them. “We should get going.” “Right,” Krurin nodded. “I suspect the Sith wouldn’t wait for much longer. Let’s move.” Suddenly everyone heard the sound of laser fire plummeted to the ground. The sound of buildings rumbling with the floor started to shake underneath their feet. Krurin soon realised that was the sound of a multiple blaster shots screeched down to the planet, it was the sound of bombardment fire from the Sith fleet. “The Sith are bombing Taris!” Bastila exclaimed. “Quick follow me,” Krurin ordered. “We don’t have much time.” “No doubt,” Canderous replied with anxiety in his voice. The ceiling started to crack as Krurin, Bastila and Canderous dashed down the long corridor towards the hangar bay. The sound of the bombardment started to intensify more as they’d approached the hangar bay doors. Suddenly an explosion occurred with a pile of rumble tumbled on top of Bastila. Krurin quickly dashed back and pulled Bastila out of the rumble and carried her to the hangar bay door, within minutes they all reached the hangar bay door. Canderous then grabbed the authorisation code off Krurin that he’d obtained from the pilot and used it. The computer responded, ‘Access Denied’. “Damn, Davik has changed the code,” Canderous hissed. “Let me try,” Krurin replied. Krurin quickly started tampering the control panel and began overriding the sophisticated encrypted security system. He was very focused as the sound of the bombardment pounded like the sound of a thousand bombs all dropped at once around them. Bastila looked over Krurin’s shoulder and pointed her finger to a symbol that seemed quite odd. Krurin noticed Bastila was pointing at something, he followed Bastila’s finger and realised the symbol was the key to something. Then suddenly the computer displayed, “Access granted” message and Krurin looked at Bastila and kissed her on the cheek thanking her advice. Bastila felt slightly awkward with Krurin's advancement on her but she blushed a little acknowledging his appreciation of her. They’d ran inside and found themselves confronted with Davik and his sidekick Calo in the distance ahead. Davik approached Canderous and his friends in the distance, and then he stood closely beside the Ebon Hawk’s ramp. “Well what do we have here? Thieves in the hangar,” Davik remarked. “It’s payback time,” Canderous shouted. “You think by stealing the Ebon Hawk and leaving me here with the Sith turning the planet into dust? Sorry… that ain’t going to happen!” Davik shouted. “I’ll take care of them Davik,” said Calo coldly. “I’ve been waiting for this a long time.” “Make it quick Calo, the Sith mean business,” Davik pointed out. “If we don’t escape soon they will kill us all!” Krurin had quickly pulled out his vibroblade and charged into towards Davik with Bastila at his side with her topaz double bladed lightsaber. Canderous pointed his big Mandalorian clan gun and fired several rapid shots at the careless cold hearted Calo Nord, with all the sound and racket of the Sith bombs roared down on the city of Taris. Davik held his blaster firmly and fired repeatedly at the daring Republic hero Krurin. Krurin dodged the incoming blaster fire and charged in at Davik like a bullet train that sent a cold chill through his opponent’s skin. Calo glanced at Krurin for a quick moment then suddenly he had received a wound to his left shoulder blade that forced him down onto his knee. Calo pulled out a thermal detonator and the trigger for it where he held his right hand up high that pointed to the ceiling. Bastila then released her double bladed lightsaber towards Davik and screamed out to Krurin to duck his head. Krurin had responded swiftly as he’d prone himself to the floor in the nick of time as the golden lightsaber whirled over pass him. Davik watched the lightsaber came at him and shouted in agony as the golden tip blade of the lightsaber had sliced through his right hip. He then felled to the ground kneeling on one knee and other end of the double bladed lightsaber had finished him off with the carving make over through armour. Krurin then pulled out his blaster and shot Davik right in the head, the crime lord was shocked and speechless as his whole body fall right back onto his backside where he laid dead. Calo saw Bastila and Krurin had accomplished their goal and were just about to attack him. The Sith bombardment intensified even more at each passing moment to spare, Calo was furious by his master’s death and sought the revenge he needed. The fearless bounty hunter wanted to kill everyone along with him with his most devastating detonator. “You think you can defeat me?” Calo taunted. “See this thermal detonator? I’m going to take you all with me.” Krurin and Bastila quickly ran back towards Canderous as they’d watched Calo about to pull the trigger. The Sith bombardment intensified even more with the sound of thousands of bombs had plummeted to the ground. Suddenly some debris from the ceiling had knocked Calo on the head that sent him down on his right knee and the trigger to the bomb snapped in half. “Damn those Sith,” Calo snorted. “You haven’t won yet Canderous. I’ll get my revenge on you and your companions.” Suddenly the ceiling had collapsed on top of Calo where he’d screamed in agony, cursed and swore aloud as Canderous, Bastila and Krurin made their way inside the Ebon Hawk. Buried under the ton of rumble, Calo was outraged that the Sith bombardment had made him lost his only chance getting even with Canderous. “Die you babbling kath hound,” Canderous shouted abruptly. “Quickly Bastila and Canderous,” Krurin demanded. “Canderous let’s get the rest of our friends and get the hell out of here.” “Right,” Canderous said firmly. “My gosh, Taris has gone into flames,” Krurin remarked. “Mission is going to be quite upset.” “Mission will deal with it Krurin,” Bastila pointed out. “She’ll find a way.” “If you say so,” Krurin frowned. The trio ran inside the Ebon Hawk where they’d made their way to the cockpit. Canderous had entered the security code and quickly powered up the engines as Krurin assisted him where he sat firmly in the other command chair. Bastila held onto Krurin’s chair and prayed, as the Ebon Hawk roared out of Davik’s estate. Krurin then looked at Bastila for a moment, and then he’d glanced back in front of him watching the beautiful skyscrapers turned into ruins. “Bastila, tell Carth we’ll pick him up outside that apartment building,” Krurin ordered. “Tell him to meet us in front of the apartment block of our hide out.” The gorgeous Jedi looked back at him and nodded as the situation had gotten a lot worse by the minute. Thousands of incoming large laser bolts roared towards them from the atmosphere and impacted on the skyscrapers of Taris. Bastila hailed Carth over the intercom and commanded her loyal friend to meet them at the specific coordinates that Krurin suggested. “Carth and the others are on their way,” Bastila said firmly. “Canderous land right there,” Krurin ordered. Canderous quickly piloted the Ebon Hawk as he’d manoeuvred through the explosions and dodged the incoming debris. Krurin watched the city of Taris turned into flame and buildings toppled all around them, people screamed in panic and ran everywhere for cover. Sith soldiers started shooting people on sight and the entire planet had gone into chaos. Within minutes the Ebon Hawk had landed outside the apartment where Carth, Mission, Zaalbar and the droid T3-M4 hurried towards them. Bastila quickly dashed to the rear of the ship and had pressed the button where the ramp and door opened for them. Carth quickly ran inside the ship where he was greeted with Bastila and then had made his way through to the bridge cockpit area. Canderous had stand aside as Carth jumped onto the hot seat where he’d punched in the accelerator firmly and the Ebon Hawk soon soared into the air. Krurin then removed himself from the chair where he allowed Bastila to take a seat. Within minutes later the Ebon Hawk had left the planet’s atmosphere, through the Sith blockade where they’d used the Sith launch codes and fled from the Dark Lord’s grasp. Suddenly six Sith Interceptors had emerged in pursuit closely behind them and fired their weapons on the Ebon Hawk whilst inside the fleeing Ebon Hawk cockpit Bastila used her Jedi instincts and followed them. “Set a course for Dantooine,” Bastila ordered. “There is a Jedi Enclave there we can make refuge.” Suddenly the Ebon Hawk warning system had gone berserk, Carth quickly looked at the control panel where he’d pulled up the ships exterior sensors and saw six red triangles vastly approaching behind them. The skilled Republic soldier quickly tweaked the ships sensors where the shape of the triangles had turned into the shape of a Sith Interceptor, make that six Sith Interceptors. “Incoming fighters,” Carth shouted. Bastila looked at Krurin knowing how skilled her companion was, knowing that the presence of Revan was deeply inside him and the Force had grown strong with him by the minute. Krurin noticed Bastila was staring at her firmly, then he realised that he had to manned the gun turret and hold off the Sith fighters long enough for them to escape. “Quickly Krurin, to the gun turrets,” Bastila ordered. “You must hold them off long enough before the coordinates are set and we can make the jump into hyperspace.” Krurin looked at Canderous and watched him ran down the corridor, he then followed him swiftly for a minute where’d he found himself underneath the hatch across the medical lab, the defiant Mandalorian pointed to the hatch and Krurin hurried his way to the top. He then sat on the gun turret chair and armed the gun where he’d anxiously waited for the Sith fighters. The newly skilled Revan had manned his station where’d he saw the incoming Sith fighters roared in towards them as Carth piloted the Ebon Hawk and took evasive action. Krurin fired the Ebon Hawk’s gun turret furiously and destroyed four Sith fighters on the first wave. The Ebon Hawk had received minor damage on the shields, the hull remained intact. Krurin then focused his attack one of them. Carth then evaded the Sith fighters again as the blaster bolts sparkled the exterior of the ships hull. Suddenly some parts of the Ebon Hawk had gone into darkness, followed by an explosion that occurred inside the cargo bay hold where Mission had found herself face flat on the floor. The wookie Zaalbar growled as he’d dragged the careless Twi’lek to the helm and stayed still. Bastila was astonished how the newly improved Revan had destroyed four Sith fighter on one go, she then felt the Force again had grown stronger inside Krurin’s soul and body along with the corrupted mind of Revan was healing itself a lot faster than the shed expected. “Hyperdrive coordinates ready in thirty seconds,” Carth said firmly. “Come on Krurin,” Bastila whispered softly. “I’m depending on you.” The Sith interceptors roared in back on the Ebon Hawk as Krurin furiously pumped the gun turret to its maximum where he watched the incoming Sith fighters spiralled towards them. Krurin lined up the gun turret and pointed in the centre of the spiralling Sith Interceptors and pulled the trigger, four laser bolts impacted on two the Sith Interceptor’s hull and clipped off their wings. Suddenly the clipped Sith Interceptors collided into each other with a huge firework explosion. “We’re all clear,” Krurin cheered over the intercom. “Initiating hyperdrive,” Carth said anxiously. The Ebon Hawk fled the scene along with the newly recruited members of the Republic. Meanwhile back onboard the Sith flagship Leviathan, Darth Malak was standing firm on the bridge command deck where he was interrupted by Admiral Karath’s report. “My Lord, Taris is defenceless against our arsenal,” Karath said firmly. “They are offering no resistance. The City is in ruins.” “Resume the bombardment Admiral,” Malak ordered. “Wipe this pathetic planet from the face of the galaxy.” “As you wish Lord Malak,” Karath hesitated. Somewhere deep in hyperspace, the Ebon Hawk whistled through the spinning vortex as it made its way to Dantooine. Onboard inside the Ebon Hawk, the depressed Twi’lek Mission had gone to the other side of the ship whimpering as Zaalbar assisted Canderous with the maintenance repairs of the blown power conduits. Bastila and Carth both were relieved to escape from the planet Taris, and yet they were curious about their new recruit, Krurin Masaror. Krurin stayed in the crew quarters all alone and watched the trails of the stars warped away in the distance beyond his eyesight. Suddenly he heard the footsteps of someone approached him, it was Bastila. “I didn’t get the chance to thank you for your help Krurin,” Bastila said comfortably. “Want some rations?” “Thanks Bastila,” Krurin sighed, he looked quite disappointed about what happened back there on Taris. Leaving billions of people to their deaths and the Dark Lord still lives. He grabbed two rations from Bastila’s forearm and chomped on both of them and glanced back at the stars. “You look sad Krurin,” Bastila said objectively. “Are you okay?” “No I was just thinking,” Krurin frowned slightly, trying to avoid the question. “Do you wish to talk about it?” Bastila asked worriedly, acting like she had cared for his own thoughts on the matter. “Not at this time perhaps,” Krurin replied firmly. “Maybe later.” “There is a part of me admires you for what you have done,” Bastila said honestly. “Whilst another part of me… no never mind.” “Well come on,” Krurin smirked. “No,” Bastila frowned. “Not yet at least.” “What?” Krurin said confusingly. “What do you mean not yet?” Bastila thought for a moment where she wanted to tell Krurin his true identity but shed remembered her strict orders from Master Vandar and the Jedi Council not to discourage the young prodigal knight. She looked at the handsome soldier where her feelings deep inside her suddenly emerged with the feeling of love and compassion all rendered into a romantic emotion. Then shed remembered the rule that shed procrastinated awhile during her Jedi Training, ‘Jedi aren’t supposed to love’. Then she thought for a moment and considered telling the newly Revan the truth about her feelings. “Don’t worry, it’s a thought that occurred to me that’s all,” Bastila lied. “If you say so,” Krurin rolled his eyes sarcastically. “Carth and I want you at the bridge to discuss something,” Bastila pointed out. “Lead the way,” Krurin replied. Krurin and Bastila approached the cockpit area as Carth was anxiously waiting for them. He heard them approached inside the cockpit as he was in his command chair and checked any sign of communications from the Sith or Republic and also monitored the power fluctuations of the ship. He then looked behind him and saw both Bastila and Krurin stood there waiting patiently. “I don’t get much to say this but thank you Krurin,” Carth said reluctantly. “I’m glad I was able to help you both actually,” Krurin replied honestly. “So what are we going to discuss?” “Dantooine,” Bastila said firmly. “It’s been awhile since I last visited there.” “Not so long actually,” Carth reminded her. “I collected you and Krurin with the Endar Spire from Dantooine.” “Yeah I see,” Krurin nodded. “Anyhow, why are we going to Dantooine by the way?” “Dantooine will be our best place for refuge,” Bastila said firmly. “We can regroup and plan ahead for our next move against Malak and his Sith regime.” “I disagree,” Carth admitted. “The Sith would pursue us and destroy Dantooine as they’d did to Taris. We should keep moving elsewhere and try to stop Malak that way.” “I doubt the Sith would find Dantooine,” Bastila replied firmly. “It’s a remote planet in the far reaches of the galaxy. I strongly doubt the Sith would attack the might of the Jedi Council.” “Well for the meantime I think Bastila is right,” Krurin said firmly. “We get the rest we need and then try to stop Malak.” “Very well then,” Carth sighed. “What are we going to do Bastila?” “We can use Dantooine as our base for the time being. I’ll be going to see the Jedi Council,” Bastila said firmly. “Also I’ll be seeking their guidance and wisdom where I’ll inform them on the most recent developments.” “Well in that case,” Carth frowned. “Krurin and I can make up some plans on how we could find out Darth Malak’s weapon.” Krurin frowned as he’d looked at Carth bluntly, knowing that his voice didn’t sound so confident in Bastila’s leadership on the current situation. He noticed that Carth was troubled every time ‘Darth Malak’ was mentioned. Then he approached Carth with a curiosity look on his face and spoke with him as Bastila had left the cockpit for a moment as shed made her way back to the communication lounge area. “Carth,” Krurin said promptly. “We didn’t finish our last conversation that well.” “Oh you want to argue some more is that it?” Carth replied abruptly. “Fine,” Krurin snorted. “You can stuff your reasons then.” “Damn it Krurin,” Carth snarled. “I suppose you won’t get any rest until I’ll talk won’t I? You want to know why I don’t trust anyone, here goes.” “Five years ago, the Mandalorian Wars was over, Revan and Malak were heroes of the Republic,” Carth replied. “I fail to see your point Carth,” Krurin frowned. “After the victory of the Mandalorian Wars, Revan and Malak had become brutal and conquering Sith Lords,” Carth said firmly. “It was completely unexpected for us, invading the Republic while we’re still weak at the time. No one knew what to think of it.” “I guess not,” Krurin frowned. “Revan and Malak turned to the dark side, obviously. I suspect it’s something more personal than that.” “I…” Carth hesitated. “Of course the Jedi turned to the dark side, if you can’t trust the best of the Jedi who can you trust?” “Depending on the situation,” Krurin remarked. “Only if it’s someone who you really care about.” “That would be a real traumatic situation,” Carth pointed out. “One thing I don’t get Carth, you make it sound that it’s more personal than Revan and Malak,” Krurin told him. “Yes there is more to it I guess,” Carth sighed. “Five years ago a close friend of mine, my old mentor Saul approached me, asking if I’ll join the Sith.” At that moment, Krurin’s mind suddenly sparkled with another memory loss of Revan had been brought back, when Carth had mentioned one of the best Admirals of the Republic, the memory of Revan remembered the name of Saul Karath who served along side with him during the final stages of the Mandalorian Wars. “That name sounds awfully familiar,” Krurin muttered. “With good reason,” Carth remarked. “Saul Karath was one of the best Admiral’s I ever served in the Republic fleet.” “Why didn’t you join him when he asked you to?” Krurin asked curiously. “I had my own reasons,” Carth said firmly. “Besides I didn’t know Saul would betray the Republic and for that I was damned with my stupid futile decision. Saul was among of the other Republic Admirals and officers that betrayed and joined the brutal Sith.” “Now I’m beginning to understand why the hostility with your speech,” Krurin admitted. “The dark side nothing to do with why they’d joined the Sith.” Carth said abruptly. “They deserve no mercy!” “You say it with such hatred,” Krurin pointed out. “I… I know,” Carth frowned. “Look, let’s just get back to the task at hand.” “Very well,” Krurin nodded. “Where’s Bastila?” Carth looked at his friend blank and stared down the corridor where he’d noticed Bastila’s shadow was approaching towards them slowly. Then Krurin looked behind him as he heard Bastila’s footsteps plundered along. Carth then looked at the navigation computer and checked the estimated time of arrival, the computer displayed less than 15 minutes away, he then looked back at Krurin and noticed Bastila had emerged from the corridor. Carth thought for a moment, a part of him was curious enough to what actually happened to Bastila on Taris when shed got captured by those Vulkars she spoke of and another part of him wanted to know if Bastila would have actually joined Revan to stop the Mandalorians. He looked at Bastila firmly and Bastila noticed Carth had something on his mind, then shed spoke. “What is it Carth?” Bastila asked curiously. “Bastila I was wondering something,” Carth said reluctantly. “How did the Vulkars captured a famous Jedi like you? Were you knocked out when the escape pod crash landed?” “No I was conscious,” Bastila said firmly. “My Force powers were exhausted from using my Battle Meditation in the battle of the Endar Spire. Without my help you and Krurin wouldn’t have make it out alive.” “Fair enough,” Carth nodded. “During my past experience I’ve seen you Jedi in action. There’s no way that those Vulkars would have stood against your lightsaber. What happened?” “My lightsaber was... misplaced,” Bastila said reluctantly. “I couldn’t find it. I even looked everywhere in that pod. The Vulkars came and overwhelmed me before I had the chance to get my weapon.” “Wait a minute, let me get this straight… you actually lost your lightsaber?” Carth chuckled. “Isn’t that a violation to some Jedi code or something?” “Of all the Jedi in the galaxy, why do we get one who’s absent minded?” Krurin smirked. Bastila glared at Krurin for a moment where shed sensed the memory of Revan’s silly jokes annoyed her a little. Krurin stood there and looked at Carth for a moment never realising that a Jedi losing their lightsaber made him laugh. Krurin then shifted his eyes towards Bastila where he produced an innocent expression on his face. “This is no laughing matter,” Bastila said abruptly. “During the crash landing my lightsaber must have fallen and rolled over under my… seat. The Vulkars must have found it there.” “Hey, hey, hey, don’t get mad I’m sorry,” Carth insisted. “Its amusing for a legendary Jedi to lose her weapon of pride. Heed my advice, this might be one of those things you want to keep out of the historical texts.” “I don’t consider myself a legend Carth,” Bastila pointed out. “However I will consider your advice when I relate to these recent events to the Jedi Council. There is no need for them to know every detail of what transpired.” “Okay, very well,” Carth nodded. Krurin then sat down on the right command chair and looked at the navigation computer where it displayed the estimate time of arrival to Dantooine was five minutes. Bastila placed her right hand on Krurin’s shoulder and looked at him firmly. Krurin glanced back and smiled at her. “Bastila, did you consider joining your other Jedi friends to follow Revan and Malak when they went to fight the Mandalorians?” Carth asked curiously. “That was nearly five years ago Carth,” Bastila replied. “I was still an apprentice and my Battle Meditation hadn’t manifested yet. Yet I had the wisdom and discipline to obey the Jedi Council, unlike Revan.” “I guess,” Carth nodded. “Would you consider if things were different if the Jedi Council had supported Revan and Malak instead of dragging its feet?” “Do not blame Revan’s corruption on the Jedi Council!” Bastila remarked. “Your Republic saw the Mandalorians as the threat but the wisdom of our Jedi Masters saw beyond the immediate threat.” “What did the Jedi Masters see exactly?” Krurin asked curiously. “They claimed it was something lurking out there, that devoured Revan and Malak and many other Jedi,” Bastila replied firmly. “Had the Jedi Council committed and sent us to the unknown, how many more Jedi would have fallen?” Suddenly another memory flashback of Revan returned to Krurin’s mind, it was the arrogant version of Revan built up inside him. He looked at Bastila firmly and chucked a scrunched up face of disgust as he’d glanced at her. He shook his head and wondered above all else, why the Jedi procrastinated too much because of something lurked out there and the Republic was losing the war if Revan hadn’t intervened. “You’re telling us that the Republic should allow the Mandalorians to conquer us unopposed?” Carth said argumentatively. “The Republic was under attack and the Order abandoned us!” “We did not abandon you!” Bastila insisted. “The Jedi Council wouldn’t have thrown many lives away foolishly. In time we would have aided the Republic against the Mandalorians, but your foolish Admirals and other high ranking officers couldn’t wait. Revan and Malak offered you a quicker answer, they chose to follow the easy path rather than the path of wisdom. Now you see all the results around us.” Bastila shifted her eyes towards Krurin and scrunched up her face where she gave an evil glare at him. Krurin remained quite annoyed as the memory of Revan somehow had embarked itself and gave Bastila an evil glare himself as he’d felt a part of the Force imbued inside him with the thoughts of Bastila was shown inside his head briefly about her reaction about Revan’s stupid patriotic decision. “You asked me if things could have been different,” Bastila hissed. “I know they could have! If Revan wasn’t that damn stubborn only if he had listened to the Jedi Council, instead of abandoning those millions of people that were sent to their deaths.” “Don’t give me that look Bastila,” Krurin snapped. “You are blaming Revan not me, and besides the Jedi Council procrastinated too long before they’d decided to aid the Republic.” “Krurin’s right,” Carth added. “If it weren’t for Revan, all the Republic would be forced to speak Mandalorian. I think we’re done here, we should be arriving at Dantooine shortly.” Bastila stared at Krurin firmly and shook her head in disgust sensing the presence of Revan had retaliated with a backlash against her and the Jedi Council’s stupidity. Carth had taken his seat and noticed they were seconds away from their destination. The navigation alarm beeped on a loud high pitch, Carth then pulled the leaver of the hyperdrive down towards him and the hyperdrive powered down back to sub-light engines where the Ebon Hawk was taken back into normal space. They had arrived in the Mayagil System where the planet Dantooine was directly in front of them. Carth piloted the Ebon Hawk to the planet’s atmosphere as Bastila stood closely behind and instructed him to the Jedi Academy enclave. The ship soared through the atmosphere as it made its approach towards the Jedi Academy through dusk clouds, within minutes later Bastila had pointed her left hand in front of Carth and instructed him to land in the middle of that round shaped building. Krurin looked at the building and noticed there were only a few Jedi and Twi’lek’s in the area as they’d landed in the middle of the Jedi enclave. It was night time on Dantooine, the crew of the Ebon Hawk was tired and exhausted from their long journey. Bastila looked at Krurin firmly and walked up to him where she said at a calm tone of voice. “It has been a long trip for all of us, I suggest we should get some rest,” Bastila said calmly. “In the meantime, I’ll inform the Jedi Council we have arrived safely then tomorrow I will explain the recent developments we’ve discovered.” “Sounds good,” Carth nodded. “Well if you excuse me gentleman, I have some business to attend to,” Bastila said firmly as shed walked down the corridor. “Something tells me Krurin that she likes you,” Carth said softly. “What?” Krurin said confusingly. “Don’t be absurd.” “Maybe it’s just me but remember how she placed her hand on your shoulder eh?” Carth reminded him. “I never scene Bastila like that before, something tells me she likes you.” “Come off it,” Krurin snorted. “Bastila more likely is encouraging me, not some romantic syndicate.” “Maybe I was just being paranoid then perhaps,” Carth sighed. “Maybe so,” Krurin nodded. “But I do like her though.” “Get some rest Krurin, you’ll need it,” Carth reminded him. “Goodnight Carth,” Krurin replied firmly as he stood up and walked to the crew quarters. Carth walked outside the Ebon Hawk and noticed Mission was standing outside in the middle of the Jedi enclave then shed walked back inside the Ebon Hawk leaving Carth concerned. Later that evening, Bastila had informed the Jedi Council of her arrival and was dismissed back to the Ebon Hawk. Late at night, Revan and Bastila both shared a common vision from the Force, an artefact shaped like a black pillar split opened into three part that showed a glowing ball that hovered and turned itself into a Star Map then the vision suddenly vanished as both Krurin and Bastila woke up in the middle of the night frantic.
