The following morning has passed with Krurin Masaror slowly woke up on his bed bunk with Bastila still fast asleep across from him. The exhausted Jedi Student slowly climbed out of his bunk and walked out to the Jedi Academy from the Ebon Hawk. When Krurin had reached the bottom of the Ebon Hawk, he felt the presence of Bastila was closely behind him. He walked out into the open and glanced back where he saw Bastila staring at him. Krurin looked at his companion and smiled. “Bastila?” curiously said Krurin. “What are you doing up so early?” “I was going to say the same thing about you,” Bastila remarked. “Bastila why are you staring at me like that?” nervously Krurin remarked. “It’s making me feel awkward.” “I was not purposely staring because I like you…” Bastila snorted. “I mean… I wasn’t purposely looking at you because I like you… I… I was just curiously wondering why you are up this early.” “You are staring at me!” Krurin laughed. “You have feelings for me.” “Krurin, we are Jedi, stop being so childish,” Bastila snapped. “Oh come on Bastila, you are curious about me is that it?” Krurin said sarcastically. “In our time together from Taris, I’ve been watching you. You have proven yourself to me, Carth and others. I admire you and with so little time from the training you received, you seemed quite confident in your abilities,” Bastila said firmly. “Admittedly I have to say I admired you as well,” Krurin blushed. “Nevertheless it was you who got us out of this mess.” “Oh come now Krurin… you did not mean that,” Bastila retorted. “You had everything under control and you rescued me, you deserve a lot of credit.” “No honestly Bastila I tell you the truth,” Krurin insisted. “Well to be honest with you Krurin that I’ve always struggled for control over my passions. I’ve always been too quick, snappy or stroppy to anger, too quick to get involved whenever I feel not ready to uphold the task. My instructors constantly berated me for it,” Bastila said honestly. “I’ve often dreamed that I might be able to confront Darth Malak myself and use all this power I have to kill him and stop all the death and destruction but my dealing with Revan complicated that.” “How did Revan complicate things?” Krurin asked curiously. “It wasn’t him as much, I just keep thinking about all the evil that the Sith have caused and I… I get so furious about it,” Bastila said frustratingly. “Yet we were told that those feelings are the path to the dark side.” “I’m sorry Bastila,” Krurin frowned. “Malak and all the Sith will pay for what they’ve done to the galaxy.” “I admire your courage Krurin but yet that alone is not enough to stop the Dark Lord of the Sith,” Bastila said bluntly. “The very thought that I could become as evil as Malak; I just can’t fathom it. It doesn’t seem possible. How could I… no, wait. I’m sorry, I should have said this. The Jedi teaching are clear, who am I to question them? And even worse, who am I to try and make you question them?” “Those are dangerous thoughts Bastila, the indulgence of a vain mind,” Krurin warned. Bastila shook her head in disgust, her emotions started to build up with sadness and depression. Suddenly the Force through the bond established between Krurin and Bastila encouraged them to be close together. Krurin walked up to Bastila and comforted her. He hugged the poor helpless Jedi Knight, Bastila slowly wrapped her arms around Krurin and felt relieved with his presence. All of a sudden Bastila stopped hugging him and pushed him gently away. “Krurin… please it’s not right, we are Jedi,” Bastila said frantically. “Please forget I ever mentioned this. I should let you return to your mission.” “Bastila… I…” Krurin said nervously. Bastila looked at Krurin firmly and waited for his response, but the young prodigal knight stopped his emotions of love and compassion to Bastila. He quickly turned his back on his mentor and briefly looked back at her. “Yes Krurin?” curiously said Bastila. “Never mind…” Krurin frowned. “I’ll see you when I return from my training.” “Be careful Krurin,” Bastila nodded. “May the Force go with you.” Krurin nodded and walked on ahead through the Jedi enclave while the curious Bastila Shan stood there and watched the redeemed Revan vanished beyond the doors of the Jedi enclave. She felt her emotions started to build up with love for the undeniable Revan but the curious Jedi Knight, decided to stay headstrong and burry her emotions for Krurin for now. As Krurin approached the Jedi enclave, the Twi’lek Jedi Master Zhar stood there at the exit to the Dantooine farmlands waited anxiously for the redeemed Revan to conduct his final exam. Master Zhar saw Krurin approached him slowly, within minutes the prodigal knight stood at attention and waited patiently for his next orders. “Ah Krurin,” Master Zhar smiled. “Are you ready for your final exam?” “Yes Master Zhar,” Krurin nodded. “Good,” Master Zhar smiled. The Jedi Master passed over a data pad to the young Jedi Student that showed the map of the Dantooine farmlands. The Twi’lek Jedi Master explained to Krurin about his upcoming mission. Suddenly Canderous and Carth snuck up behind them, the Jedi Master stopped his conversation with Krurin and looked behind them. Krurin raised an eyebrow and glanced back behind him where he saw Carth and Canderous stood at attention. “Carth, Canderous?” curiously said Krurin. “What are you doing here? I thought you were asleep, unless the two of have come to whine to me about your problems about the Mandalorian Wars.” “You are wishful thinker Krurin I like that. We were supposed to sleep until Bastila insisted that we should come along,” Canderous grunted. “She never ceases to amaze me,” Krurin smirked. “Well I see no harm in browsing around the place,” Carth replied. “Come on, it should be better than this boring enclave.” Krurin and Master Zhar both looked at each other and rolled their eyes sarcastically. Master Zhar wished his pupil all the best and told the droid to unlock the door behind them. The door opened as Krurin, Carth and Canderous stepped through where they found themselves into a farmland. It was early morning, the sun slowly raised over the horizon and there were farmers grazing the fields with Jedi Knights stood guard near the enclave. Krurin slowly walked ahead of Carth and Canderous as they’d followed him. Then suddenly the prodigal knight was greeted with a Jedi Knight dressed in blue coloured robes, a male human named Nemo. The old grey bald man stared at Krurin firmly, Carth and Canderous both looked at their companion’s reaction. “Excuse me sir, have I met you before?” Krurin said calmly. “No we haven’t,” said the old coot Jedi Knight. “Mind if you tell me what is going on?” Carth interrupted. “It’s alright Carth,” Krurin told him. “I will handle this… continue sir.” “The name is Nemo, I’m one of the oldest Republic Jedi Knights that is stationed here on Dantooine,” Nemo introduced. “I sense that you are a Jedi student now and you seek to find the taint that plagued these lands.” Krurin looked at the old male Jedi Knight completely stunned as the prodigal knight reached out to the Force and calmed his feelings that would send any sensitive information to the other Jedi Order members without him knowing. He averted his eyes to the old coot and nodded firmly. “I trust in your analysis Nemo,” Krurin nodded. “The name is Krurin Masaror by the way, I’m pleased to meet you.” “Welcome then my Jedi friend, another member of the Order is a nice expletory for all of us,” Nemo replied. “So tell me Krurin, your mission is to find the taint that plagued these lands.” “Yes that’s right but I rather prefer if I… I did not speak this too openly,” Krurin hesitated. “Understandable,” Nemo nodded. “Is this your first time out here?” “Yeah you could say that,” Krurin admitted. “What lives out here?” “Show me your datapad Krurin and I will explain,” Nemo replied. Krurin grabbed his datapad and displayed the map of the Dantooine farmlands to Nemo. The old Jedi Knight took Krurin to a nearby isle where other Jedi Knights were discussing in the compound. Nemo sat on the wall and explained Krurin the map of the Dantooine farmlands as Carth and Canderous stood back and waited impatiently. “To the north we have two residents who own a great deal of farmland. To the east, there is Jedi battle compound where Jedi Students use it for studying or meditating purposes. To the south of us, that’s only the spaceport and to the west of us is quite a dangerous area,” Nemo stated. “What is there?” Krurin asked curiously. “I sense a disturbance out there.” “That’s where your Jedi training mission is Krurin,” Nemo told him. “Perhaps you will find the clues there, whatever has stirred up the animals over there. It has made the animals go wild and they attacked anyone who poses a threat to them, even unarmed.” “What kind animals do live here?” Krurin asked anxiously. “Kath hounds,” Nemo replied. “Be careful they travel in herds. However from what I sense inside you Krurin, you are a strong individual. Yet even strong individuals who mastered the Force can still be killed.” “Like Revan,” Carth interrupted. “Just like Revan,” Nemo nodded. “Thanks for your time Nemo, I appreciate it,” Krurin said thankfully. “Enjoy your training and stay on Dantooine young student,” Nemo said firmly. Krurin grabbed his datapad from Nemo and walked out to the farmlands to the west. The young courageous man pounded his way through and found himself in the middle of field with tall wheat grass, surrounded with rocks around them as Carth, Krurin and Canderous ventured through the valley. Suddenly Krurin’s Jedi instincts kicked in where he sensed the presence of a tainted group of animals nearby. He ignited his lightsaber and stood firm, Canderous and Carth saw their companion had drawn out his weapon and they grabbed their blaster rifles. “What is it Krurin?” curiously said Carth. Krurin waved his left hand in the air and opened the palm of his hand where he signalled Carth to remain quiet. The Jedi student slowly walked forward nervously, his footsteps were at a slow pace as Krurin looked both left and right of the ridges where he expected an ambush. Canderous soon smelt a foul stench of Kath hound crap nearby, the Mandalorian looked at Krurin where he whispered. “Kath hounds…” Canderous muttered. Suddenly the three Republic heroes heard the sound of a Kath hound barked and howled over the left ridge and charged in towards them, followed by a small heard of four other Kath hounds. Krurin held his ignited lightsaber firmly and stood on his guard stance. Carth and Canderous blasted their rifles from the distance and killed four of them while Krurin defended himself and culled the last Kath hound. The Jedi Student deactivated his lightsaber and walked on through the grassy meadow where he saw a group of stone hedge shaped of a special ground sight was ahead of them. Krurin looked at the place in the distance where he felt the dark side presence was strong there but his Jedi instincts reached out to him and told him it’s further down the right path lane. Krurin trusted and followed his Jedi instincts where it took him and his companions to an open field. The prodigal knight soon sensed an incredible strong presence in the Force that could be the taint that plagued the farmlands. He looked over to the left and saw an old ruin surrounded with Kath hound pups, the prodigal knight used his Force vision and zoomed his eye sight focused on the Kath hound pups. The childish mind of Revan taunted Krurin’s thoughts where it joked about Bastila. “Bastila’s face is scrunched up like a Kath hound pup,” Krurin chuckled softly. The prodigal knight stared further ahead and saw a group of abandoned ruins in a grove; Krurin felt the presence of a Jedi Knight had fallen to the dark side. He also sensed the Jedi Knight’s pain and grieved as he slowly approached the grove. Suddenly they were under attack by the Kath hound pup ambush. Krurin ignited his lightsaber and defended himself while Carth and Canderous pulled out their blasters and fired it at them. “Ambush!” shouted Carth. “Carth, Canderous provide me cover,” Krurin ordered. “Right Krurin,” Canderous nodded. Canderous and Carth provided suppressing fire from the distance as the determined redeemed Revan charged in with his topaz green lightsaber and distracted the Kath hound pups. The Kath hound pups tried to lay their claws on Krurin but the skilled Jedi Student swerved back and dodged the craws narrowly as Carth and Canderous watched their friend fought gallantly. Krurin killed two Kath hound pups on his first blow; he twisted his lightsaber and spun around where he killed another two kath hounds. Carth and Canderous quickly culled the other two kath hounds and watched their friend stood there still waiting for them, surrounded by the dead kath hound corpses. Carth and Canderous both rushed to their friend as Krurin the prideful Jedi Student retrenched his blade and looked at the paved grove ahead of them. The prodigal knight and his companions slowly made their way to the grove. Krurin paused for a moment and looked at the grove carefully, his Jedi senses twitched for a moment where he felt the dark presence of a fallen Jedi Knight was nearby. There emerged a female Cathar dressed in Jedi Knight robes slowly approached towards the three cunning gentleman. The Cathar reached out to the Force and had put Krurin’s companions in a status field while Krurin stood there shocked and amazed. The prodigal knight stared into the Cathar’s cat eyes and found nothing but sorrow, depression and guilt that she’d buried deep down because of her master’s death. Krurin reached out to the Force and tried to sense the fallen Jedi Knight’s problem, the young student determined to solve the problem decided to confront the fallen Cathar and persuade her. “You are trespassing on my territory,” the Cathar hissed. “Hold on I didn’t come…” Krurin remarked but the Cathar leaped out at him and attacked with her red lightsaber ignited. “I will bring your doom,” the Cathar shouted abusively. Krurin swiftly dodged the Cathar’s lightsaber and ignited his topaz green lightsaber and lashed out a flurry at her. The Cathar blocked his attacked and tried to push the determined Jedi pupil back. Krurin twisted and twirled his lightsaber in the air and attacked the Cathar furiously. The Cathar desperately Force jumped into the air and delivered a hard chop and Krurin but the focused Jedi Student had everything under control where he dodged the Cathar’s attack and struck her with a vicious lightning assault that knocked the fallen Jedi to the ground. “How… how is this possible?” said the Cathar confusingly. “I’m supposed to be stronger than you are.” “The dark side is never as strong as the power of the light,” Krurin told her. “Spoken like a Jedi Council member,” remarked the Cathar. “May I ask who you are Jedi Knight?” “The name is Krurin Masaror but I’m just a Padawan,” Krurin replied firmly. “Who are you and why did you attack me?” The Cathar’s eyes widened slightly as the fallen Jedi had sensed Krurin’s strength was too overwhelming for her. The prodigal knight watched her slowly rested herself on a rock beside the ruins and removed the status field from Krurin’s companions. Krurin looked back at Carth and Canderous, as the two men were about to point their blasters at the Cathar and blast her but Krurin hand signalled his companions that stopped them. He then looked back at her and waited patiently for her response. “My name is Juhani,” said the Cathar panting. “I attacked you because you stepped over my territory.” “You mean this grove here?” Krurin asked. “Yes,” Juhani said flatly. “This is where my hideout is. I sense you were sent by the Jedi Council to stop the taint that plagued these lands.” “I won’t deny that,” Krurin nodded. “You know there is another way Juhani… reject the dark side.” “I could have Krurin but I killed my master when I was… furious… impatient and now I regret it,” Juhani frowned. “The Jedi Council will forgive you, I don’t seek to kill you but that’s a last thing on my mind,” Krurin said persuasively. “No I can’t,” Juhani lied. “Lies, all lies from the Jedi Council! I do not believe you Krurin. Please… leave me here.” “No Juhani,” Krurin snapped. “Your master is in a better place than we are. The Force has lifted her spirit elsewhere to place beyond our imagination. I bet your master would try to do the same thing and tell you to reject the dark side.” “I… I…” Juhani said nervously. “Believe in me Juhani, you don’t want to experience the dark side,” Krurin force persuaded. “Search your feelings Juhani the dark side only leads to pain, lies, corruption and destruction but the power of light brings you wisdom, power and knowledge. Reject the dark side and seek the Jedi Council’s forgiveness.” “Yes… yes, Krurin you are right,” Juhani sighed. “You believe the Jedi Council will forgive a fallen Jedi?” “I do believe them and I believe that you have the will to do it,” Krurin said persuasively. “Oh thank you Krurin,” Juhani cried, the Cathar hugged Krurin briefly. “I will return to the Jedi Council at the Academy. Thank you for redeeming myself.” Krurin watched Juhani dashed off through the fields, he soon sensed the dark taint that plagued the farmlands was cleansed. Carth and Canderous both looked at their companion curiously, the Mandalorian mercenary Canderous thought that Krurin was heartless and that he should killed the Cathar while he still had the chance whilst Carth praised his companion for saving a fallen Jedi and redeemed Juhani back to the light. Krurin looked at his companions and started to head back to the Jedi Academy. Half an hour later, Juhani had returned to the Jedi Academy where she was confronted by Master Zhar. The pink Twi’lek felt the presence of the redeemed Revan had fulfilled his task; he turned his head to the Cathar Juhani and addressed her promptly. Juhani stood there at attention before the Jedi Master to seek for the Council’s forgiveness. “Master Zhar,” Juhani said firmly. “Ah Juhani… I see that you have come to the Academy,” Master Zhar nodded. “I want to apologise for my actions Master Zhar, for I have killed my master by accident and… I…” Juhani frowned, her voice broke down. “The Jedi Council decrees that you’re forgiven for your actions Juhani,” Master Zhar applauded. “However get some rest and do wait for your next assignment.” “Thank you Master Zhar,” Juhani smiled. Suddenly Belaya appeared behind Master Zhar and Juhani, Master Zhar walked away leaving Juhani alone in the corridor where he returned back to the Jedi Council throne room. Belaya sees Juhani alone in the corridor her eyes widened and she bolted towards Juhani and smiled at her. Juhani saw her friend and smiled back at her, Belaya hugged her Cathar friend and welcome her home. “Juhani, I’m so happy to see you,” Belaya said cheerfully. “Me too Belaya,” Juhani smiled. “Who saved you?” Belaya asked. “A Jedi student named Krurin Masaror,” Juhani replied. “Krurin Masaror?” curiously said Belaya. “He is the most gorgeous man I’ve ever seen in the academy.” “You have a crush on him,” Juhani laughed. “He is cute.” Suddenly the doors opened behind them, Krurin, Carth and Canderous walked inside the Jedi enclave where they saw both Juhani and Belaya were hugging each other. Krurin averted his eyes towards Belaya and Juhani, he smiled at them as he and his companions past them by. “Oh gosh, that was him,” Belaya gasped. “Let’s head back to the room Belaya… we need to have our discussion,” Juhani told her. “Yes,” Belaya chided. Krurin led his team mates inside the Jedi Council throne room, he saw Master Zhar stood there in the briefing room anxiously anticipating his arrival. Krurin looked at the Jedi Master and was convinced that his training was complete. Master Vandar and the other Jedi Council members, including Bastila were pleased with the news that the redeemed Revan had past the exam. “Congratulations Krurin, or should I say, congratulations fellow Jedi Knight,” Master Zhar praised. “Jedi Knight?” curiously said Krurin. “I thought I was meant to be Jedi Student.” “You have saved a member from our Order who embraced the dark side and now is redeemed thanks to you,” Master Zhar replied. “Let this be a lesson for you in the future, even the strongest of our Order can fall to the dark side.” “Like Revan and Malak,” Krurin frowned. “Yes… like Revan and Malak,” Master Zhar nodded. “So I passed the exam?” Krurin asked. “Flawlessly Krurin,” Master Zhar praised. “Your Jedi training is now complete and your next assignment is ready.” Krurin turned his back on Jedi Master Zhar and looked at his companions, Carth and Canderous firmly. Master Zhar walked back to the throne room as Krurin talked to his companions alone for a brief moment. Carth and Canderous argued at Krurin that they did not entirely approve the Jedi Council’s methods. Krurin argued back where he pointed out the Jedi Council were doing the best they can in the best interest of the Jedi Order. Carth and Canderous nodded firmly and left Krurin alone in the Jedi Council chambers. Krurin slowly made his way to the Jedi Council throne room where he saw Bastila and the other Jedi Council members anxiously waited for his arrival. Bastila sensed the redeemed Revan’s presence and was shocked to see his power manifested in so little time, she felt so alive around him and his charms were irresistible. Krurin stood closely beside Bastila and smiled at her cheerfully, he then looked at the Jedi Council member’s firmly and stood at attention. “Well done with your progress Krurin,” Master Vandar praised. “Master Zhar tells us you saved another Jedi from the dark side and have her redeemed.” “There is still one task yet that you and Bastila have to solve,” Master Vrook interrupted. “The vision Bastila and I had,” Krurin nodded. “Yes…” Master Dorak replied. “We had sent a Jedi to investigate while you were doing your training, unfortunately he did not return since,” Master Vandar frowned. “Perhaps we would find some clue to that,” Krurin said curiously. “And also to find a clue about Revan and Malak’s down fall.” “Maybe so,” Bastila agreed. “Krurin, you will lead the search,” Master Vandar ordered. “Bastila will accompany and assist you with the mission. If you discover anything, report back to the Council your findings so we can determine what is needed to be done.” “As you wish Master Vandar,” Krurin replied firmly. “Come on Bastila, we have a job to do.” Bastila smiled at Krurin and followed the redeemed Revan out the door leaving the Jedi Council members pleased with Krurin’s progress. Inside Krurin’s head, the wounded mind of Revan slowly regained with a few more additional memories of the past. Krurin and Bastila walked together slowly out into the farmlands, Bastila stood there and enjoyed the view while Krurin flirted with her again and walked ahead slowly.
